Google recently announced the official launch of the second "AI Infrastructure Academy," aimed at supporting startups in using artificial intelligence technology to address important issues such as cybersecurity, education, and transportation. This four-month program is designed for companies in the seed to Series A funding stages, offering equity-free support and rich resources, including leadership training and sales skills guidance.
The program is primarily virtual, but selected companies will have the opportunity to attend a face-to-face summit at Google's headquarters. Applications opened in late April and closed in mid-May, with fierce competition. Participating companies must have at least six months of financial reserves and be able to demonstrate their market appeal.
Notably, Google has a good track record in identifying outstanding AI startups. Last year, alumni companies of the first academy, such as Cloverleaf AI, successfully raised $2.8 million in seed funding, while Zordi secured $20 million in financing with the support of Khosla Ventures. The list of newly selected companies is as follows:
- Attuned Intelligence: Provides AI-driven voice agents for call centers.
- Block Harbor: Focuses on cybersecurity for vehicle systems.
- CircNova: Uses AI to analyze RNA and develop new therapies.
- CloudRig: Provides AI technology for contractors to help manage schedules and production.
- Making Space: Connects employers with disabled talent.
- MedHaul: Provides connection services for healthcare institutions and non-emergency medical transport.
- Mpathic: Automates clinical workflows and provides AI supervision for clinical trials.
- Nimblemind.ai: Helps organize health data.
- Omnia Fishing: Offers personalized fishing advice.
- Otrafy: Automates supply chain management processes.
- Partsimony: Helps companies build and manage supply chains.
- Satlyt: A computing platform that handles satellite data.
- StudyFetch: Provides personalized learning experiences for students and educational institutions.
- Tansy AI: Helps users manage health records and appointments.
- Tradeverifyd: Tracks global supply chain risks.
- Vetr Health: Provides in-home veterinary care services.
- Waterplan: Helps businesses monitor water resource risks.
This is just one part of Google's numerous initiatives supporting AI startups and research projects. Earlier this year, Google also launched the "AI Future Fund" project, aimed at funding startups that use DeepMind's latest AI tools. At the same time, Google has committed $20 million in funding support for AI research and technological development, further promoting the global popularization of AI education.
